Climate Change Solutions

Now is the time to join the global effort.

The Practical Just-in-Time Solution

In order to stop burning the carbon in fossil fuels, we must achieve three interrelated goals.

One: Decarbonize the Global Energy System.

This includes production of renewable energy in sufficient quantity and affordability (solar, wind, geothermal, biomass, and moving water at scale). In addition, renewable hydrogen, produced without emissions, is an essential energy-carrier for low-cost long-term energy storage, transport, and on-demand power.

Two: Draw down atmospheric CO2.

Carbon dioxide drawdown at scale can be achieved by introducing a new method of farming algae-biomass and HCS processing as a means of converting atmospheric waste carbon through photosynthesis into a new agricultural cash crop. We envision a global network of such farms, from community scale to large ocean-borne operations.

Three: Convert waste carbon into economic assets

Products made from harvested carbon foster growth in quality jobs and quality of life – “Build Back Better” infrastructure development for a 21st Century Economy.

We must transform carbon from problem into solution
by putting this important durable resource to work.

Achieving these three objectives will get us to Net Zero

Viable Production at Scale

The HydroCarbon Splitter™ process can use multiple types of organic feedstocks, making it financially practical and technically able to scale in scope, quantity of production, and diverse locations to meet the challenge (local, regional, national, and international).

Abundant Clean Energy

Metrol® will allow us to produce, store, and distribute sufficient quantities of clean, affordable, renewable hydrogen for fuel and electricity generation needed by all economic sectors. This is a shift in the economy from energy scarcity to clean energy abundance.

Installed base of existing engines and furnaces repurposed to run clean with full power and zero emissions

SmartPlug™ will facilitate the transformation of the installed base of machinery and infrastructure to burn Metrol® hydrogen fuel. We can avoid obsoleting good equipment and prevent the unnecessary waste of prior investments and sunk cost.

To achieve these objectives, McAlister invented and developed four core technologies that provide an implementation framework that is practical, scalable, and timely.

To reach the global scale neeeded for major climate change mitigation, the implementation plan must build the following scalable capacities:

These technologies can serve a broad array of industries that are making the transition to clean energy (hydrogen) and renewable materials (carbon).

The emerging green economy can be

  • a growth engine for quality jobs
  • career paths in new clean technology
  • leverage for local communities to solve climate-driven economic and social problems
  • the key to achieving sustainability, prosperity, and equity (fairness and equal opportunity).
